It is based on a patented lightweight box girder beam that offers an impressive spanning capability of up to 22m. This superior strength and stiffness can be put to good use spanning shorter distances at higher loads and makes it ideal for flat roof applications where access is required and also for intermediate and mezzanine floors. Large cantilevers can be provided and roof construction can be flat or pitched.

It is equally applicable to new build and refurbishment. The structural element can be integrated into a building's structure whatever the construction material - steel, concrete, timber, masonry or composite structure.

Over 500,000 m² of SkanDek elements have been installed in Europe in a wide range of building types. The system is fully tested and is the first product of its type to have gained CE Mark status.  Eurobond-SkanDek Limited has further enhanced the product for UK application with design programs, extensive detail library - all with the backing of independent assessment by the Steel Construction Institute and award of their SCI Assessed standard.
